Everything slow after update to 4.1.2

I recently updated to 4.1.2 and everything is very slow. This is especially noticeable on the menu screens which take several seconds to display completely. Flipping between menus is a very jerky process and after closing an application the home screen displays just the wallpaper, all the icons and widgets slowly appearing one at a time over the next 10 seconds or so. The applications open slowly also, although once they are open appear to run OK.

Still having the email refresh problem in the other thread.

Anyone else having the same issues?
    Anyone know a solution?

    Allan

i notice mine is getting progressively slower and some apps never respond. I've had to put CC Cleaner on it to clear some cache and even put items that i want to keep on my SD card but that's only seen little improvement.

After any OTA update, a factory reset is recommended.

What are the implications of a factory reset - will I lose everything again?

In a word "yes". You'll want to make sure all your contacts are backed up to Google, and if you're not rooted, download My Backup (free in the Play Store...they also have a paid version with more options) to backup your text messages, apps, etc.
Good luck & holler if you need a hand with anything.

Thanks, I suspected that might be the case!

Now I will have to decide now whether to go through all the trauma, as it sound too complicated or put up with it until I get the Note 3.
