    Welcome to the forum

Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich is a major update.

Factory data reset will solve lots of your problem. After factory reset, do a few reboot to let it settle down.

Back up your apps..etc via KIES

A friend had upgraded my Note from gingerbread to ICS using kies as I am totally rubbish with IT! The new OS is fantastic and my MX Player for my copied tv video in the class10 (some said class 10 was not compatible with Note) sd card, now playing smoothly without freezing or crashing, unlike previously. The voice recognition seems better too. I love the new look. Everyone must upgrade if you can. I'm sorry about your experience though. Don't know why!

    Hi Astrix,

"Have you try sync apps with KIES?"

I have tried but found that KIES provide auto synching for photos, videos and songs but not apps.

    Thanks anyway.

I never use KIES before. Installed KIES for its drivers only to work for ODIN.

    Hi Mohit,

Yesterday i had upgraded from Gingerbread to ICS and I had the exact same issue as you do(if you do, still) on my Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100.
I had done the Factory data reset many times, but the issue persisted.

This is how i solved it:
    Switch off the phone
Enter the <3e> menu (hard factory-reset menu) by pressing the volume up + home + power keys
    Select Wipe Cache Partition
Select Factory Data Reset (If not already done)
    Select Reboot

It seems that the phone keeps some old gingerbread files in the system cache and were causing issues when the ICS was trying to access them. Hence clearing cache is a good option.

Let me know if it works for you...
