    Can't Answer Incoming Calls - Black Screen

    I updated to ICS last week (stock Rom - non rooted phone updated via Kies).

    When I have an incoming call, I just get a black screen and no way of seeing who is calling or answering the call. When the caller hangs up, the phone is still ringing at my end and the only way to stop it ringing is to restart the phone.

    On one occasion when the phone was ringing it took a very long time to unlock the screen from sleep mode (pattern unlock) and when it did unlock I got a 'process.com is not responding' message and a force close.

    I have removed and replaced the battery several times and removed all the apps I have downloaded since I upgraded to ICS and run an app cache cleaner, tried a different SD card but still have the problem.

    I am desperate for a resolution and this is my work phone and need to be able to take calls, so appreciation in advance for any help.

    Welcome to the forum
    What error you get..there is term for that.

    To make it simple not to confuse:
    From GB to ICS it is major update. Lots of error can be resolve by factory data reset.

    That will be hassle to re-set up but that the best solution.

    Go to setting menu - back up and reset - factory data reset.

    Risk:
    - You lost your data (sync your contact first: setting menu - acoount and sync - sync all).
    - Lost all games and apps with it data. It will auto re-download the apps but not the data.
    example if your angry birds already have 100 levels..it will be gone

    PS: If anything go wrong with your phone. Just go to service center cause you on Official Samsung Firmware via KIES nothing to worry so much. :D

    Thanks for the advice. I decided to take the risk with the factory reset and so far so good. Normal service restored and I even think it is running less hot and having better battery life
