Set Calendar default reminder to "none"

For several reasons I tend to make Calendar entries via Google Calendar on the web, and without reminders. However, when Google Calendar syncs with the Galaxy (standard app) all the entries are set with a 10 minute reminder by default. I would like to set the default reminder in the Galaxy to "none", but I can't see how to do it. Can anyone help please? It's driving me nuts!

I haven't heard of this issue before, so I'm going to bump the thread in case someone else can be of any help.

Thank you! On reflection it seems to me that this is in the nature of a bug in Gingerbread (or Samsung's implementation thereof) - that it shouldn't be setting any reminder if none is set in the event it receives from Google Calendar. Can I request someone else with a Galaxy S II to see if they can duplicate the problem? If it is a bug should I report it as such, and if so to whom?

I just tried it on my Galaxy tab and there was no reminder set. I have a 10 min default set in Jorte and I didn't get a reminder in either the native calendar or jorte. I couldn't find a setting in the native calendar either.

I have the same issue on my Galaxy S II. It defaults to no reminder and I want to change it to 15 mins but can't see how, any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like Samsung might need to be contacted over the issue, then.

Good idea. I'll give them a ring in the morning.

Let us know how it goes. If there's a workaround and/or widespread problem then we'd like to spread the word.

    Question Unable to change alarm

I've just moved from a BlackBerry to Samsung Galaxy SII. I can't edit appointments that have been sent to me, eg. to change the reminder from what the sender put in the invite. If I get sent an invitation to a meeting, and the sender has set it to a 5 minute reminder, I may want to change that to 30 minutes to give me time to travel there. If I try and edit it on the Galaxy, it says that I don't have permission. I'm stuck with the sender's 5 minute reminder, and will likely end up late. I thought I'd post that here as it is a similar issue. Would love to hear any suggestions... Is this a bug? I don't have this issue on my old BlackBerry Torch.

I've rung Samsung twice, and each time, after taking my details, the customer services bod has promised me someone would ring back - but they haven't. I'll try again a little firmer tomorrow, when my wife's home. It's her phone.

@round42 - are you using the standard Calendar app?
