Galaxy S2 Running HOT
Has anyone had an issue with their phone running hot?
I have had to remove the battery a couple of times since receiving it last Thursday. It ran hot, twice after charging via the car charger and one time I just had it in my pocket. When it runs hot it freezes
. The heat does not appear to be around the battery but higher, towards the camera.
Once the battery is removed, I have replaced it immediately and the phone then runs perfectly.
Confusing.

That's the antenna/CPU area. Are you streaming data heavily? IF so that'd do it. If you're in a low-signal area then that'd do it as well as the radio boosts its broadcast power to compensate.

Bluetooth will also make a good deal of heat when charging. I'd recommend looking at a task manager to see what's running when it's starts getting hot. I've only had it do that once and I found out it was an app that had gone crazy and was sticking the processor at it's max 1.2GHz the whole time it was charging. When it's maxed out, it gets warm quick.
EDIT: If you're rooted, use this: https://market.android.com/details?i...=search_result

Those are both great points that could be a cause with overheating. If it always overheats when charging in the car it may wind up being too much current going into the phone. This can be from a faulty car charger or one that wasn't made by manufacturer.

Oh, did you have GPS enabled? That can fry your phone with the heat it generates if it can't find a signal. Was a BIG problem on the D1 till FroYo hit.

If it's getting too hot to touch then take it back. That's not right at all.
As for radio waves, yes, they can be unhealthy in large doses and from long-term exposure. That's why the devices have a deflector preventing the radio waves from broadcasting towards the front of the phone at anywhere near the strength they broadcast from the rear. That's also why the antenna in many phones was moved to the bottom of the phone, closer to the jaw, than at the ear-piece, where more radiation would be absorbed by the brain.

How hot is hot? Use an app like temp monitor to check.
