Notifications and Ringtones NOT working :-(
I installed an SD card and decided to MOVE the "media" directory to the SDCard. MISTAKE!
The phone removed the ringtones from the SD card and now wont show any custom ringtones on either the phone memory or the SDCARD
In ASTRO I have the following directories:
None of those directories show any of the default tones, though I can select them in the SOUND SETTINGS on the phone SETTINGS/SOUND options.
I have copied tones (.mps3) that were previously working into all these directories and although I can see them in astro, Kies Air, etc etc I cannot select them when I go into the main SETTINGS/SOUND options of the phone. All I see is the default ones (which as I said I cant see in Astro).
It's almost like a ghost directory has occurred, very confused.

How did you move them to SD card?
DO NOT WRITE IN THIS SPACE
THIS SPACE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK
Using the windows file manager.
I have now found that I didn't need to create a "media/audio" directory on the SD card, and instead just create a "ringtones", "notifications", "alarms" directory directly on the card. That seemed to work.
The only issue I have left is that the ringtones/notifications/alarms show up in music applications and if I add a ".nomedia" file into the directories for them then the phone cant see them for ringtones/notifications/alarms.
Why are you adding a "nomedia" file?
A guide can be found here.
If you also deleted 'media', then just create that one as well.
Hi, If your having no luck still, try removing the ID3 data from your ringtones on your computer using ID3 killer.
Then using your data cable add the ringtone file to your sd card.
