    Need Protection Advice

    Hello,

I am a proud owner of a new unlocked Samsung Galaxy SII I9100. and i want to keep it that way, NEW that is.

this device is sexy, the screen is amazingly beautiful , i love it. and i want to protect it, but there are a lot of choices on the web, some for 3$ some for 30$ but i have no experience whatsoever in which is better..

i want protection for all the phone, not just the screen, actually the screen is the least of my concerns as its made of Gorilla glass, so it is tough. I have sweaty hands, and my last phone (Omnia I900) edge's lost the color , so i want to protect every cm of the device.

share your experiences with different products..

just for fun, im gonna add a Poll, do you use screen and/or case protection on your device
    thanks

I use an Otterbox but no screen protector... can't stand screen protectors on Gorilla Glass. If you're scratching Gorilla Glass, you need to rethink what you're doing with your device.

Thank you, glad to join the forum

So gorilla glass is tough enough?

And for the case I want something that will not affect the slimness of the phone

Welcome to the forum. I agree with Dorian about an otter box. If you want to keep it slim then buy one that keeps it slim. As long as you are careful about not dropping your phone you should be ok. If you are like my kids and drop it atleast twice a day then buy the Otter box. I would rather have it protected from damage versus keeping it slim. That's just my opinion though.

well unless your sixty years old, I'm hardly like your kids since I'm 29 ;-)

I see what you mean, and I do have a history of dropping my phone (maybe I'm like your kids after all), its deemed to happen sooner or later. So otter box will be on my top list of choices.

Nice! The OtterBox has absorbed the impact of me dropping my phone several times... plus since it's got kind of a textured silicone back, it sticks to whatever surface you lay it on so it doesn't slide off in the floor (or worse).

This is the version I have... Samsung Galaxy S II Commuter Series Case // OtterBox.com

Umm.. Don't have to be 60. The oldest is older than you. I however am not 60. They're step kids and their mom is only 51. But, either way you get my point
