Silent and Vibrate

HI I have a question regarding the vibrate and silent mode. When i keep my samsung galaxy s2 in vibrate and silent mode and set the Vibrate to Always it does not vibrate when i receive a gmail or yahoo mail . but it vibrates when a phone call comes in. i checked with another friend of mine who uses the galaxy s2 and he sees the same thing, no vibration for emails. is there any way to change this setting so that the phone vibrates for new mail?thanks in advance

Did you change the notification setting to silent or vibrate?

You have to enable vibrations in the e-mail app; otherwise it defaults to notification-only and that's silent.

You need to check the notification box under the email app settings. Those alerts are separate from the Android phone notifications.
