Turning 3G Off
Hi Guys,
Following a recent new purchase of the Samsung Galaxy S 2 (Which I'am delighted about owning) I rang up my provider and they have said that I am now coming close to the 5000mb allowance I have.
I just wondered how much of this allowance was down to uneccesary syncing i.e if it was all down to 3G subscriptions via apps.
Has anyone tried turning the 3G off and if so, how? and how did the battery life compare after you turned it off?

I would say your batt life will def improve once you turn 3G off. Also turning the gps and wifi off when not in use helps batt life. Susu gave you a good path to turn it off. How's the problem coming along?

Hi,
Thanks very much for the help....it really does help!
By now my battery would be screaming that its only got 10% left but now its saying 7 hours..
I've also done the following to combat huge battery usage by googling if anyone finds themselves in the same position:
Auto Rotation - OFF
Power Saving Mode - @50%
Brightness - Just bright enough to see (I know how criminal this may sound given that we have got a super AMOLED screen but save that for showing off to your friends down the pub)
3G - OFF
WiFi - OFF
GPS - OFF
Application sync's - NOT ALLOWED
Wallpaper - Normal wallpaper in one section as apposed to the mosaic 3 sheet, not live
massive improvement, thanks again...was getting worried I had a defective phone or something.
