Has the Echo Problem Been Fixed Yet?
I am considering getting a Samsung Galaxy S2 in the near future but am concerned by reports of echo problems when used with a case. Extract from Amazon review below:-
>ECHO PROBLEM
>There is a serious issue with the Samsung Galaxy S2 that needs to be brought to light, namely the "echo" problem when the phone is used with a protective case such as the Case-Mate Tough Case, or any other case for that matter. This fault has affected a number of SGS2 users. Just Google "galaxy s2 echo problem" and you'll see what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, if your phone is affected then you're one of the unlucky ones because, as I found out, it is a hardware fault with the phone!
Has this issue now been resolved in new Samsung S2 phones via a hardware or firmware upgrade??
This looks like a serious issue as I will want a case for my Samsung Galaxy S2, there seems little point buying a phone I can’t talk to people on.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Jon.

Hi Jon and welcome to Android.net. I've heard the same thing but haven't experienced it first hand. What version (carrier) of the Galaxy S2 are you considering?

The echo can be got rid of during a call if you press settings then noise reduction off. Happens to me on some calls and doing this gets rid of the echo.
You can't do it on speaker phone though and you have to do it each call when necessary as there is no option to permanently turn the noise reduction off.
Not all calls have the echo anyway so you only need to do it when it happens.
Works a treat for me.
