My Galaxy S II keeps rebooting over and over !

I am using Samsung Galaxy S II. Recently I had upgraded to the latest firmware version using Samsung kies. The upgraded version is gingerbread 2.3.6.
Then the problem started. The Handset is rebooting intermittently. Reasons and duration unknown. Otherwise the handset works fine.
1) Any suggestions for rectification.
2) Can I downgrade the OS using samsung KIES
3) Will this downgrade cause lose of all applications.

Try using Odin. Go to xda developers and the have tutorials for using Odin. Then go back to stock rom. If you just bought in last 14 days go back to store. If longer than 14 call customer care. Let us know what happens.
