Does Anyone Else Think This Phone Runs Slow?

My 1st foray into smartphones was an iphone 4. I didn't care for the apple way of life, so I switched to this phone.

I'm finding some qualitative differences that I'm not so impressed with.
    • I'm running a credit card processing app and response time seems much slower than it was with the iphone.
    • Speaker quality is not a clear--neither the one you put your ear over nor the speakerphone one; people's voices sound tinny.
    • When I move the phone from my ear to hang up, it takes a few seconds to display the screen; much slower than the iphone was.

Would be interested to hear how y'all think the quality of this phone compares to other smartphones.

I have the AT&T version of the SGS2 and have no issues at all with it's speed. Who is your carrier? That could have a lot to do with the relative speed you're experiencing.

Sprint. How does the carrier make a difference, esp. with the last 2 items in the list I posted? Along the same lines, when I press the power button to bring it out of sleep it takes measurably longer than the iphone did. Seems like a hardware issue to me; I can't see how the carrier could effect that.

Are there reports of other Sprint users experiencing this? Any ideas why I would experience this with this phone but not the iphone--same carrier.

Galaxy SII is the fastest phone I have ever had experience to test. And I had experience with: SGS, SGS+, SGSII, SGMini, Samsung Wave, HTC DHD, SEX Play, Nokia N8, NN9 (barely), iPhone 3GS (barely), iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and ZTE Blade. Not only SGSII has the strongest hardware here but it's software is quite amazing too.

I think you should go to Sprint and ask to switch it with another, it's a new phone, right?

It's an almost new phone. Did not buy it from sprint.

Sprint is notoriously slow compared to even ATT, with their iPhone data demand overload (did you run your iPhone on ATT). I suspect the connectivity issue is Sprint-related.

I experience the same things, probably even worse. My phone lags a lot and freezes daily. If I am texting more than one person at a time, my phone freezes.
