S II + 3rd Party Music Player

Hello all,
got a sii two weeks ago - basically love it! Graduated to it from using an iPod + cell to this baby and it's more than satisfactory!
...except when it comes to the standard music player which is in my opinion not the strongest

being the cheap bastard i am, i downloaded free real player beta & doubletwist based on online recommendations and came to prefer real player. it worked fine for the first few days until my sii shockingly and suddenly froze after picking a song. it continued to occur at a frequency which is about once per day - i'd say

cursed real player, removed the apparent troublemaker and went on happily with doubletwist
...except same problem

phone is two weeks old, not rooted, nor any weird apps on it, also i usually have at the most only 3-4 apps running at the same time to conserve energy and RAM.
it ain't really that bad of a problem, but it really is getting annoying having to force restart the phone on the mornings when it starts looping crazily on one note because it had been frozen (it gives me near heart attacks too since it really comes unexpectedly)

that's why i really appreciate the help in advance guys, hope you can help me

You could perhaps try PowerAmp. It is startlingly good.
