Galaxy S3 Performance
HI,
I recently purchased the Galaxy s3 after using the Motorola Razr for about 8 months since ICS is STILL unavailable in my market. Running 2.3.6 became an issue with Apps like Chrome un-installable etc.
Can't say I was overly impressed with the S3 compared to the Razr but I was ok with it. However after making the S3 my main phone I dared to unofficially upgrade the Razr to ICS 4.0.4 and wow what a change. Had I had the Razr running ICS before I would have never bought the Samsung. Compared, the S3 is big time slouch. The Razr is responsive, fast and vibrant. The S3 sometimes takes seconds to redraw the HOME screen.
I have removed all un-needed apps from my S3 and still it's sloooooow...
Any suggestions please?
Thanks.
BTW - I am new to this forum - so take it easy on me please....

Welcome to the forum.
If you go into settings, developer options, scroll down and turn off window animations and transition animation scale. It'll speed things up and make it a little more smooth. There are quite a few options with this device to tweak the settings to get things the way you like it.
You may also want to check out the Apex launcher.. ..way better than stock Touchwiz imo. Nova is another great launcher.
Good luck.

Thanks for the tip. Removing the animations did indeed help. will try to other launchers later today.
