The only way I found to use playlists easily is to be able to create them on the big screen (PC), then sync that to the phone. I use MediaMonkey ($25) on the PC for MP3 management, playback, etc. It really helped me clean up all my tags, so selecting music on the phone is much easier.

It can sync to its own MM phone app. which is currently in beta, but it works well for me. It will sync the playlist (as well as all the music) to the phone where it's available to any player.

I like MM's mobile main screen. It allows view by composer (I have a lot of classical, and easily changed all the other tags in MM so they wouldn't show composer).

    There's a freeware version.

I'm sure there are others too.

I even copied all my songs into separate folders by genre, but it won't recognize individual folders. And it's sloooow bringing up all my songs.

So, if anyone knows of a good music player they can recommend, hit me up!
You don't have to do it like that. Just go to a song, hold on it and press Add to playlist. Then choose your playlist.
