Hi, I guess the worry would be getting the same tolerances where voltage ect is concerned. You don't always get the same specification just because the adaptor fits! You need to look at the voltage rating of the charger and the specification of the phone otherwise you end up either not charging or blowing it up.
I've had eight Android phones over the last few years, and I have always mixed and matched charging plugs and the part that hooks up to wall plugs. Never had any problems, however I was using manufacturer supplied plugs, not something purchased in a thrift store.
I guess a lot of phones must all be using similar voltages now that the competition has heated up, and so many chargers are also able to utilise the USB ports of other electrical devices to charge! I do remember some years ago though mistaking a charger with the same din plug and causing damage to my electrics. I still check these days so that I don't regret it!
Yeah, pretty much all chargers are interchangeable now and you shouldn't have a problem.
I think that was another reason people were so turned off by the latest iPhone. Instead of using a micro usb , which is standard on pretty much every cellphone and tablet these days, they had to go and be different and change the plug they've been using for years, making people spend $30+ plus just so they can use their new phone.

Apple is very thoughtful that way.![]()
The voltage differs significantly enough to damage your battery from different levels of devices. If it's similar, of course, nothing bad will happen, if the voltage is little, it's safe, but it will charge quite longer, if it's significantly higher, it'll charge way faster but will cause damage to your battery over time, making it's life shorter.
When I lost my SGSII charger, the first one on my eye was SGM's charger, it took 2.5 times longer to charge. I tried vice versa, it charged quite faster, but heated it a lot.
