    Samsung Infuse 4G worth buying???

I am a huge fan of the Samsung Infuse 4G, however, the intial rumors are that it will not support 4G LTE. We know AT&T will be going to LTE and future phones will support both LTE and HSPA+. What do you think; should I go for the infuse or wait for an LTE Samsung phone for AT&T? The 4.5 inch screen, Super-AMOLED Plus, 1.2 GHz processor, and all the other specs make it irresistable but data speeds make a huge difference in the browsing experience, which I do frequently on my phone.

    Welcome to the forums!

It will actually be about 2 years until you could tell a clear-cut difference in HSPA+ and LTE, because AT&T has limited backhaul to it's towers. If you could wait, then I'd wait till after Mobile World Congress in Feb. to see what new phones HTC and Samsung announce. There's supposed to be a Galaxy S successor announced, and it's very likely that it will have HSPA+ AND 4G.

AT&T Official Response to LTE on Infuse 4G

Thank you for contacting AT&T about your wireless service. My name is Julie Davis and I am more than happy to assist you today with your inquiry regarding your device.

I can certainly understand your concern regarding your phone's network capability. The Infuse is compatible with both the HSPA+ and the LTE networks. AT&T plans to launch LTE service mid-2011. We are accelerating our LTE network build, expecting it to be largely complete by the end of 2013. We are already seeing 4G speeds on our existing HSPA+ network with enhanced backhaul in areas of key markets. In these areas, we are seeing speeds up to 6Mbps and we expect these speeds to increase as we accelerate our LTE build and further deploy expanded backhaul. Your phone will automatically connect to these networks, when available in your area.

If you have any additional questions about your device, please respond to this email. If you have a question about another issue, please send us a new email via the Contact Us link in the lower left-hand corner of your myAT&T account. Thank you for choosing AT&T; we appreciate your business.

I don't believe that info is correct. At present, AT&T doesn't offer any devices that utilize LTE, or will be able to. Even the Atrix lacks the appropriate radios for LTE. She's correct about HSPA+ though....if it's available where you are, you're golden. But for LTE, when deployed, you're gonna need a different phone.

So am I - the Atrix, my Inspire 4G and the SGS2 are enough until HTC releases the One here in the US. That one I plan to pounce on.
