Android Lurker
Small Review
Hi everyone,
I've been using this phone for more then a week now, so I decided to write a little about it.
This is my first Android phone, previously I have used a Nokia 5530 XpressMusic (with Symbian).
I'm actually quite happy with it, I decided to change to Android after I found out that most of the recent apps aren't available on Symbian (well, maybe on Symbian Anna or Belle, but not on the real old one). Also I thought that Nokia is too expensive for what they offer.
One of the things that I liked immediately was the camera, I mean 8,1MP isn't what you get on every phone. Filming in HD, what do you want more?
A good 1Ghz processor, no dualcore, luckily, now the battery lasts longer. Actually quite long, it lasts more then a day.
Okay, my Nokia could last all week, but I knew that when I would switch to Android it wouldn't last as long.
The small screen and the high resolution are just things that I like a lot. My Nokia was just a little smaller but also with a quite high resolution what makes it look classy. The touchscreen buttons look cool too. Anyways, the phone looks really good and doesn't look cheap at all.
I haven't discovered any lags so far, so far so good. Playing games just like Temple Run and Slender (yes, that exists for Android!) work just fine, no lags, etc.
The agenda looks cool, easy to synchronize, though I'm not really used to synchronizing.
Also, this screen is amazing to watch movies on your phone, though if you want to watch movies, you should use a bigger capacity SD-card, the 4GB won't last forever here. The applications are a lot bigger then on Symbian. Maybe 16GB? Or 32GB?
However, the fact that photos and clips look so good has almost everything to do with this 'Bravia Engine' thing. You can put it off if you want to, what's useful.
Oh. I'm also using 2.3.3 now, I'd like to update but I'm going to do some more research on how it runs on the Ray before. If you have 4.0.4, please tell me how it works!
The Ray is worth it's price, I paid around €190, what's not very expensive for a good quality phone, so I think, for a good phone, the price is even better!
Want to know anything else? Shoot!
