Screen Separation issue on HTC EVO 4G

It has come to our attention that some users of the HTC EVO 4G may be experiencing some screen separation issues. It appears to be a design defect and we are unsure at this time if HTC will be fixing this via a manufacturing update or not.

In the mean time you should be able to swap out units. You can click the following pictures for full size images to get an idea of what is happening.

    Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Yeah, my screen is starting to separate. I called Sprint about it a couple days ago but they were out of stock so they couldn't send me a new one. I'm going to call again tomorrow.

At least Sprint and HTC are standing behind their products and replacing them though without much hassle. That's a good thing.

That sucks MetalHead! Good luck working with Sprint to get another replacement. I have my EVO in a very snug hard rubber case so I wouldn't be able to tell if my screen was separating or not!

That's something you might want to consider is to get a very form fitting and snug case so that the screen doesn't have a chance to separate. My 2 cents.

MetalHead, Has the screen separation been resolved and would you still buy the EVO had you to do all over again. I currently have one on order but am thinking about canceling it. Thanks in advance. fin72fan

I am on a waiting list to receive one of the newer EVOs without the screen problem. The one I have now has it, but it's less noticeable than the first. Sprint has been very easy to work with in getting a replacement. I knew when I first ordered my phone that as an early adopter I would run into issues, so I am not upset about it at all. The fact that you have not received yours yet leads me to believe that you will get one of the new ones that won't have the screen issue.

Over all I am more than happy with my EVO, I think it's an AMAZING device, and would order it again knowing full well the issues it has.
