new phone question

Hi all, and thank you for any advice.

My contract is up and I am eligible for a new phone, and trying to figure out which to get. I am not sure which phone to get though I have been leaning towards the EVO Shift from the little I have seen so far.

I would like advice on two things:
1) which phone to get.
2) if there is a new phone (ie evo 3d however I am not sure that appeals to me the 3d feature) coming out that I should wait a little for. This is of course an issue since you can always wait for the next phone, but if there is something new coming out soon...

If you have no need for 3D then just go with the old EVO.
