Any prepaid option with voice & data?

I'm interested in getting the N1 without a contract. I would use it mainly with wifi and some light voice and paid data.

Is there a prepaid option that includes voice & data?

Best bet... ask your main carriers where you reside

I use AT&T prepaid in the USA, primarily wifi, with some light voice and cellular data use. I would estimate my monthly usage is ~$25 or less.

The only issue is that you have to be aware of what apps use heavy cellular data, such as multimedia and anything to do with Google Maps. For email and reading the morning news, prepaid cellular data works fine.

I've been reading about AT&T prepaid and it sounds like a good way to go.

I assume Google Navigation uses Maps. So if I go on a trip that requires Nav it looks like I'll need a different option for the trip.

I also need to figure out how to get service in Canada for a 2 week trip next month.

AT&T PAYG works in Mexico but not Canada.

MapDroyd will give you maps stored on your sd card, but no navigation.

I am going through Canada too. T-Mobile prepaid (voice only, no data) allegedly gives coverage in parts of Canada, and only costs $10 for 3 months expiration. I'm giving it a try.

Since starting this thread I've learned that what I am looking for is referred to as PAYG (pay as you go).

It seems that TMo only has voice PAYG and AT&T has both voice and data PAYG.

The T-Mobile "Even More Plus" plans can be contracted on a month-by-month basis. They might be appropriate if you have heavy voice and data requirements but don't want to commit to a 2 year contract.

T-mobile also has the Plus plans. These are basically postpaid plans without a contract. IMHO, it's probably the best deal for a non-contract plan.
