Angry Moving--Need Help with T Mobile

I currently have service with T Mobile. We are moving to an area that clearly shows on the coverage map that there is no service....and trust me there is no service, it is very frustrating. I called to cancel my line and they are still going to charge me $200 to disconnect, so with 2 lines it is $400. I asked even though they cannot provide me with service they are still going to charge me and they said there was nothing they can do. Anyone have any advice on how to get out of that charge that I should not have to owe? Thanks

Welcome to the site. My experience has been that the early termination fee is impossible to get out of. If you refuse to pay it, the account will end up with a collection agency and will be reported on your credit report. My response has been to break the fee down into small amounts and to pay it over time, just to aggravate them. I do believe I have read where people have successfully fought this. Check your contract carefully. Seems you have a valid reason. It might be worth the effort to take it up the chain. All they can do is to deny your request, so might as well try.
