That'd be something if that were the issue. Heh. It's often on 3g or E when I turn it on and then it promptly goes off data, so wireless must turn off when it's sleeping, thereby turning E or 3g on.

edit: if this works, I guess my battery life will be improved significantly, too, and I'm already not complaining. :-)

Again, Im new to this but I believe my wireless was faster on a speedtest than the 3G.

Thats why at home I have no problem just keeping it on the WiFi.

If you use your phone alot, I reccommend setting the display brightness to as low as possible as thats the biggest draw on the battery.

Mine tends to be on the lowest, because even then it's pretty bright, and I rarely need it to be any brighter.

I'm in Atlanta and is almost always on 3G. If not, I've at least got EDGE.

I Live in Albuquerque...not only do I get a "solid" 3G at a pretty damn good speed, I've also noticed that my N1 connects to HSPDA where some mytouch/G1 devices are still connecting on UTMS. The whole dropping 3G to Edge thing? Never witnessed it, never experienced it...totally diggin my new Nexus to add to my other 2 android devices...

Coverage is great in my area

Ive had t-mobile for about 7 years now, living in the western tip of Texas, and I have to say right now I'm extremely happy with the 3g coverage in my area. Only ONE time has my phone gone from 3g to EDGE since I got it, and that is inside my college campus where I usually don't get any reception anyway. So far so good no complaints here
