I am in California as well.

    I ordered 2 sims, a 50MB plan and a 150MB plan
    SIM Kit2 = $25.98
    $50 UNLIMITED NATIONWIDE TALK AND TEXT+50 MB OF WEB1 = $50.00
    $60 UNLIMITED NATIONWIDE TALK AND TEXT+150 MB OF WEB1 = $60.00

    Sub Total: $136.00
    Shipping Method Chosen:
    USPS First Class Mail
    Fees / Credits:
    $0.00
    Tax:
    $0.00
    Shipping Total:
    $1.41
    Grand Total:
    $137.41

No tax. And it is all PRE-paid, so there are no additional random cell carrier fees!

You can also get the sims at local stores in your area. http://www.mysimplemobile.com/Simple...r-Locator.aspx
Although they may charge a couple extra bucks for the sim. My friend said if they charge more than $15 to call the main office and report them.

(Truthfully I haven't used the service YET, my phones come in tomorrow and sims are soon to follow. My friend from college works there and says the CEO uses a nexus one no problem. They use the Tmobile netowkr so everything works great!)
Their data plan is not unlimited and is very expensive.

This sounds cheaper than anything else. Has anyone tried this carrier yet?

I'm compelled by this posting. Can you please let me know once you've use the service, how the voice call, internet,(coverage) etc. etc. goes? I'm thinking of jumping on this. Thanks!

Yeah, I'm spending 25 bucks for unlimited data, and at their rate 25 bucks will only get me 250mb, that's prolly the most expensive data plan I have ever seen. I'm doing 100mb in 3 days or so, almost as much as alphawave7. Appearancewise they are giving you less upfront cost, but the per unit cost is expensive, and you will always be on netcounter to monitor your consumption. IMO this is a really bad deal.
