AT&T pushes update to enable sideloading!

If your on AT&T and have struggled with having to root your phone or other various methods to sideload non market android apps, get ready to do the happy dance. AT&T will begin today pushing updates to a handful of their Android phones including the HTC Inspire 4G, HTC Aria, and Samsung Captivate. Be sure to let us know if you received this update.

All I can say is, it's about time!

I check my Inspire yesterday and still no sign of it.

I thinking this update will come as an update from the MFR and not AT&T. When I got the update for the Inspire for faster upload speeds, it was from the HTC wifi update option. So I think this may be rolled up as the MFR "get" to it one would assumed.

Another reason why I like HTC as a MFR over Samsung or Motorola for that matter. I'd put my money on Aria and Inspire getting updates before Atrix or Captivate.

I am happy that my Infuse already has it preloaded. Sideloading is annoying to do and I don't want to root the Inspire, although I may root the Infuse, but don't really see a need to other than OC'ing it.

I rooted my Tablet so it has sideloading activated on their.

Let's just be happy that AT&T got their head out of their woo hoo (so far)

Still nothing (5/19/11). I got the 1.84 blah blah update a while ago, but this one is still a no show. I also have been unable to locate any sort of estimate date for this one.
