Android.net is the premier Android Forum on the internet.
Easiest way i've found to add custom ringtones to contacts is to use ringo lite from the market, just put ya ringtones in their own ringtone folder
On my SGS2 (AT&T), if I choose a contact, at the bottom of the screen is a button which says edit. If I click on that and scroll down, I have a catagory called Ringtone. If I click on that, I have three choices: Default ringtone, Select sound from My files and Phone Ringtone. Chosing Phone Ringtone gives me the option of choosing from Android System or Zedge Ringtones. I choose Android System, and that takes me to the file folder where my phone's ringtones are stored.
HTH....![]()
To assign ringtones to different callers, the most important thing you have to do is to save contacts on phone memory. Only then it will show the option to assign ringtones. I have not come across any phone that provides assigning ringtones option if, the contacts are stored only in SIM card.
First, you'll need to find some ringtones you like. Ensure your ringtones are DRM-free MP3 files. Also, they should typically be 30-seconds or less in length. Ensure your microSD card is in your Samsung Infuse 4G, and then connect the phone to your computer using the supplied USB cable. If you’re Samsung Infuse 4G does not mount automatically, touch the USB icon that appears in the menu bar at the top of the display, drag it down to expose the Android Notification Pane, then tap on USB Connected and select Mount. Using a file explorer on your computer, navigate to the root folder of the memory card in your Samsung Infuse 4G. Create a new folder called ringtones .Now, simply copy all of the MP3 ringtones you want on your Samsung Infuse 4G into the new ringtones folder. You can now un-mount your Samsung Infuse 4G and your ringtones will become available as options when changing your ringtone. To set one of your new MP3s as your ringtone:
From the home screen, tap Menu then Settings.
Tap Sound,\ then Phone ringtone,\ Scroll to the ringtone you want,\ select it and then tap OK,\ and its all good to go…![]()
