Motorola: 28 percent of 2010 revenue came from Verizon

Think the Atrix 4G might be a critical launch for Motorola right now? A fresh regulatory filing by Motorola today revealed that the company got a whopping 28 percent of its cash from Verizon last year -- up from 17 percent in 2009 -- a pretty powerful testament to the "Droid effect." The company goes on to say that "the loss of, or a significant reduction in revenue from, one or more of these customers could have a negative impact on [its] business," and it's pretty clear that the launch of the iPhone on Verizon will have at least some impact this year. Question is, can they make up for the loss with a harder push on other carriers like AT&T?

There for a time I thought VZW might just snatch up Moto and make them an "in-house" brand... I wasn't too far off. 28% of total revenue is HUGE.

VZW might wish they had. I see more ads for AT&T-branded Motorola phones than I do for anything on Verizon right now except the iPhone, and AT&T is still hawking that for all it's worth.

Remember when Verizon basically turned up their nose at the iPhone? Those were the days, lol. I really hope the Motorola/Verizon partnership continues with their flagship device THE Droid. It singlehandedly saved Motorola, and I really believe Motorola makes great Phones (e.g. call quality is often second to none), and their Hardware is pretty top-notch. I just wish they refocused Blur to be less...."Blur".

I can't count the number of times I've wanted to switch back to the Stock Google Voice Commands that were on my Original Droid, the Voice Commands on my D2G suck HARD. Takes forever to load, and can't figure out what I'm trying to say at all (my OG Droid always got everything first try).
