Why would VZW ask Google to do this? Take your pick:
    1. to sell more Droids
    2. to sell more Droid Eris phones
    3. to wait until after the Incredible is ready -- VZW would rather you buy the Incredible than the N1.

Why do so many of you have a hard time believing that Verizon is likely responsible for the hold up?
Ok wise guy? Why is google not pushing Nexus One through Telcos? Because of the reasons you stated. Yes, google main interest in device sales is not only on N1 but actually Android. All the devices you mentioned are android powered. What would google lose if N1 gain more market share than any of those devices? Nothing.
Another reason google is not pushing assets through the telcos is because they want create new ways users purchase devices and contract.
Ok, I'm not really sure what your point is because you seem to be saying the same thing as me -- Google doesn't lose anything if you buy other Android handsets (read: Droid, Droid Eris), so why would they be opposed to holding back the Nexus One for Verizon to sell a few more of those?

I'm not trying to be a wise guy, but I tend to come off that way when I'm extremely frustrated -- so my apologies.

Anyway, I suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree on this. Me and the guys at Android Central will stick to our opinion, and you are welcome to yours.
No need for apologies my friend. "Frustrated" Thats where Idraw the line, getting all worked up to spend my hard earn money. My frustration for This thing ends today because I'm heading to Tmobile tonight. This thing has gotten so bad I'm now rethinking if I should even bother to for the $279 add Add on from Tmobile. $279 looking like lots of money now after all this wait and no respect from Google/Verizon. They should kiss my (!) and go do themselves.

    See, I'm stuttering !!! lol

    14-Day Return Period

I'm sure this has been said before but at this point, I'm thinking I'll get the Droid and play with it for 2 weeks. Hopefully, the Nexus One will come out somewhere in there. If I like it, I'll just stick with the Droid and if not, I can return it before the 14 day period is up and go get the Nexus One...

You've actually got a full month to decide. Having played with the Droid for about a day now, I seriously doubt I could be as tempted by the Nexus one.

Thanks. I wasn't sure how long the return period is. Honestly, if the Droid is in fact getting 2.1 (another area Verizon is delayed) I don't see any reason I'd return it...Buying the Droid is probably the only way I'll make it through the next few days anyway. Take THAT Verizon...oh wait...take THAT google...hmm, that doesn't work either. Take THAT HTC!

Not gonna work for me... IMO the Droid is clunky and ugly looking. Same with Incredible. Which is why I'm hopelessly stuck waiting around for the N1.
