    haha motorola scrapping MOTOBLUR
The Devour's already obsolete, love it.

It's funny that people actually get upset with somebody if they try to get info. This ENTIRE thread is based on hear say and reading the stupid blogs and bogus news releases we read online. The only official thing we've ever seen is the verizon logo on the google.com/phone page, that's it... yet the same people that post what these ridiculous websites say and what random people twitter, are the same people who get mad when others are finding the same info. Priceless.

    Agreed good sir.

On another note, do you refresh the main google/phone page or the Nexus one Phone - Choose a phone???

CHOOSE A PHONE! It takes less time because if I refresh the homepage and the breaking news still says ATT, i think there's a possibility they just didn't update that blurb, so i click on the phone link. if i just refresh the phone page, i KNOW if it's there. haha. pathetic.

I refresh here first, because some crazy part of me believe that here will find out sooner, while simultaneously refreshing the Choose a Phone page, because if its going to appear anywhere it will be there. Faster sales if that gets updated first.

And pathetic doesn't even begin to describe it....:nexusx:

Yeah thats what I do as well. Everytime I refresh my heart skips a beat hoping the Verizon option is listed.

In all likelihood, they WOULD want them to know and therefore be more willing to hold off on an alternative purchase.

The problem is Verizon. They WOULD NOT want prospective customers to know a release date because, if they did, they wouldn't buy the phones they currently sell.
I don't buy that Verizon wants to keep release dates a secret. If anything you think that once a launch was imminent (less a month) they would want to share it. People with Verizon that are going to renew their contracts will still do so if they like the upcoming phone, just a month later. VZW still get their money in a timely fashion.

And an added perk of sharing release dates is that people on other carriers whose contracts are up will know that a sweet phone is coming out on Verizon so they should not renew with ATT or TMo or whatever and they should wait a little bit then go over to Verizon. And then Verizon gets their money too. Verizon wins two ways instead of one if they share the release dates.
True...but at the same time, Verizon will likely not get a portion of N1 sales, only the plans that go with them. They stand to profit more from the phones that they sell in house rather than the N1. Also, with the N1, it is already available on other networks, so there is no reason for people to change networks simply for the N1...
They don't profit from selling phones... Verizon pays more than the 200 that we pay for a droid. So they take a loss on each phone in order to make sure you sign a contract that is worth upwards of $3000 over two years.

And I know a few people that want a Nexus One and they were looking for an excuse to switch to Verizon but Verizon had no phones they were interested in. The Nexus One allows them to do that.

Okay first, FredyG truce? just put whatever we had said before behind us? Start on a new slate?

And as for the whole Nexus One on twitter. He says he will give VZW nexus one news in a couple of days or when he feels like saying something.

Feel free to debate it or whatever, i won't stop you.
