This is a discussion on I just received 2.3.4 within the Vidéotron forums, part of the Android Phone Carriers category; [QUOTE=nanling;13421213] http://android.clients.google.com/pa...0.71d2f9ec.zip !!![/QUOTE...
Can I put this update on a Videotron Nexus One with stock 2.2, stock recovery and not rooted. I'm tired of waiting for videotron to release those OTA so I dont care about their custom ROM.
Yes but you need to flash 2.3.3 prior to 2.3.4. Works perfect (im with videotron)
From stock 2.2, flash 2.3.3 update then go ahead with the 2.3.4 update...
*Remember that videotron's rom is not a stock rom.

Could you post or direct me to the correct version of 2.3.3 please. As for the updating process, I guess it's save update to SD.... recovery mode.... update from.zip I just put on the SD card.
*Yeah I meant their version of android as in I didnt touch it.
EDIT: I just tried to go in recovery to see and I was stuck with the android guy(had to remove battery)... do I have to install something like clockwork recovery? --> Seems a good link http://www.techofweb.com/google/manu...ngerbread.html
Stock 2.2, or Videotron 2.2? There's a difference.
If it's the first, you get the update over the air, no need to do anything.
It it's the latter, follow my tutorial (there is a sticky topic for it in this forum) that will bring you to a really stock ROM from which you get the updates automatically.
does it give a signature error or so?
Update manually once with this file:
To do so, place it in the root of your sdcard (i.e. in no folder) and rename it to update.zip
reboot to the recovery by holding PWR and Vol Down during boot up
Enter the recovery by pressing PWR and Vol Up at the android screen
Then select apply sdcard:update.zip
This extra step is due to a new file google is using to update. I still haven't had time to change my tutorial.
I've successfully updated to 2.2.1 with your tutorial. Now I'm trying to update to 2.3.3 using 81304b2de707.signed-passion-GRI40-from-FRG83G.81304b2d, but it fails saying assert failed (Status 7). I've tried updating the hboot as this site says : Upgrading Your Stock Nexus One From FRG83 to GRI40 ( Gingerbread ) | Geekin' It Real ....still not working.
Ok I'll try update to 83D, I'll come back with either good or bad news :D
EDIT: Still not working...now I'm doing 2854b06b22b9.signed-passion-FRG83G-from-FRG83D.2854b06b
